We made it to Friday! I don’t know about you but this week has felt hard. I know I put too much pressure on myself but even by my standards this working week was a struggle to get through, even though it was only four days. The world is a bin fire right now so when your little corner of the world also feels tough it’s even harder to feel positive about things.
The realisation that I hadn’t actually put shampoo on my hair when I washed it this morning kind of summed up where my head was at. To help me feel better about the positives of the week I’m reflecting on the joyful moments that lifted my spirits and made me smile:
- A bank holiday mooch where I find finally found the perfect desk chair – see previous post
- Getting caught in the rain (multiple times)and not really caring
- Hot cross buns – my first and only of the season which were soooo good, even if I managed to blow the electric circuit when toasting them
- Finishing a stitch project
- Cooking a delicious dinner of shepherds pie while catching up on the day with Adam – and there being leftovers which had been heated and was ready to eat when I got home from the pub tonight
- Spotting Donald Duck out in the wild – well a sticker of him at least
- Meeting cute dogs – pretty self explanatory, but I made three new canine friends this week
- A solo glass of delicious and cheap (by London standards) wine before meeting up with a friend – followed by more wine with said friend and new friends
- The pencil bollards that I haven’t walked past in a while
- Bumping into someone I hadn’t seen in ages – there was one free table at the pub tonight and at the next table was someone I knew, who was the owner of one of the aforementioned cute dogs
- Catching up with an old friend over glasses of wine – the perfect start to the weekend
- A longed for necklace coming back in stock that Adam collected for me on his way home from work
And relax. The weekend is here and it’s going to be a fun one.
What has brought you joy this week?
