I always love checking out the Christmas windows at Fortnum and Mason. In fact it’s become a tradition that my aunt and I meet up in London each December for a day of festive fun, with the final destination being Fortnum and Mason. But their window displays aren’t just for Christmas. They have interesting displays all year round. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you were to walk along Piccadilly right now, you’d see they have a great display celebrating love and six talented street artists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The modern art looked great framed by the traditional window frames; a very different surrounding to the hoardings and graffitied walls I’m used to seeing their work on. Each of them stood out in their own right with their vibrant use of colour. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was a typical Saturday afternoon so I did have to hang around to wait for gap in the pedestrian traffic to get these photos. As well as enjoying the art I enjoyed, as I’m known to do, watching people looking at the art and listening to the comments people made as they walked past. I spoke to one passer by who thought the painting by David Speed was a photograph rather than a painting. The photo doesn’t really do it justice as it was incredibly difficult to photograph through the glass as you can see. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I’ve been lucky enough to meet two of the artists in person previously – ALO at his exhibition in Dalston a couple of years ago and David Speed at his exhibition in his studio last year – and I’m in awe of their talent. It was great to see all of these artists being given space on one of London’s most expensive shopping streets and exposure to a new audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
