200 years of the National Gallery<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n
I very rarely go out and about in central London in the evenings these days unless I\u2019m meeting up with a friend. This week was an exception. In the past seven days I\u2019ve had three nights out in central London, one solo and two with Adam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Saturday, I hung around after a stitch meetup in the park to meet Adam from work for an evening of pub crawling and dinner, before heading to Trafalgar Square for the National Gallery\u2019s 200th birthday light show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Tuesday I wandered through the streets of Soho towards Fitzrovia Chapel, which I\u2019ve wanted to go to for ages. I was there for Stitching Stories: Panel Discussion on the Terry Higgins Memorial Quilt, which has been on display on the chapel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was back in Soho on Wednesday for the Vintage Supermarket as part of London Craft Week. Being a sunny evening, the streets of Soho were full with people having a post work drink, but fortunately we managed to find seats inside the Dog and Duck pub which I\u2019ve been meaning to go to for years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I love roaming the streets in the evening, but I forget how long you sometimes have to wait for a bus home. Also didn\u2019t count for having to walk past three closed bus stops to get home on Wednesday. It\u2019s a good job it was a nice evening or that would\u2019ve been really painful. A bus hop home meant I got to see one of my old regular views looking north over Westminster Bridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Occasionally I have these strange ideas about moving further out of town or to a different part of the country, but then I\u2019m reminded of how much I love living in this city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
